America, the beautiful

by BJ

America, the beautiful, the free, the great. But I can assure you, Disneyland, it ain’t! (okay, I soo didn’t mean for that to come out rhyming).

Looking back to the eve of the Inauguration of our 44th President, it seemed everyone I encountered here in my neck of the woods had been floating on clouds of joy, tip-toe-ing through the tulips, their cup runneth over.

Even some folks whom I follow on Twitter had their wings a-flutter Tuesday night, with sugar-coated and warm, and gleeful Tweets about how happy they were going to be “Tomorrow”.

“Tomorrow is going to be a new day of promise and hope.  I’m so glad we are on the road to peace and happiness.”

“I can’t wait until tomorrow.  It’ll be like Christmas all over again!  Whee!”

“What a day of rejoicing that will be!”

Guess who said that last one?

Now here we are, on the cusp of yet another big bailout from Uncle Sam, this time it means a huge pork-barrel-laden stimulus bill full of empty promises, half-truths and probably not going to do any good for anyone, except Big Government.  Wasteful.

TODAY at NOON (Eastern), the National Tea Party, a movement that is spreading widely across the web as I speak…er, type.  The plan is to get as many people to stand up against this plan by President Obama and his congress, and to keep our money where it belongs.

In our wallets!

This movement has spread from a decent ripple by a group in Illinois to a nationwide wave.

If you cannot find a location near you to attend, you can always check out the Top Conservatives on Twitter to see who will be Tweeting the event.

* If you guessed Oprah, you’d be absolutely, positively correct.
